Make up for ever : HD Invisible Cover foundation

Grace Davidson Monday, June 24, 2013 17 Comments
I have never used Make Up For Ever's foundation and this is my first ever experience. First of all, in my opinion,  $42 is pretty expensive for a one foundation and always scared that I wouldn't like it after the purchase.  Moreover, I use up my foundations or tinted moisturizers pretty quickly so in this case, the price does matter and affect my decision.  Thankfully, I got this one as a gift, now I had a chance to use it and could compare this one with some affordable ones.
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation #118 Flesh
:for light skin with yellow undertones. - $42.00
 *This item was a gift
Claim:
An oil-free medium-to-full-coverage liquid foundation that covers skin imperfections flawlessly while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. This foundation creates a soft-focus effect, which is designed to meet the coverage concerns of those in the spotlight. It leaves your complexion with such a flawless finish, it can withstand bright or harsh lighting.

Ingredients:
-Relipidium: Moisturizes the skin (+46% after 4h).
-Fucogel: Forms a microfilm that prevents dehydration and protects against external aggression.
-Sericite: Enables rays of light to spread more widely intensifying the radiance of the complexion.

Aqua, Cyclopentasiloxane, Neopentyl Glycol Diethylhexanoate, Mica, talc, PEG-10 Dimenthicone, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Phenyl, Trimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Lauroyl Lysine, Dimenthicone Crosspolymer, Glyceryl Caprylate, Methylpropanediol, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate, Cyclohexacyloxane, Methylisothiazolinone, Sorbitan Sesquileate, Silver Oxide, Propylene, Carbonate, Parfum (fragrance), Methylparaben, Fagus Sylvatica Extract (Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract), Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein, [+/- CI 77891 )titanium Dioxide), CI 77491 (Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides).

The package of this foundation looks so simple and sleek. I really like its pump, it makes easy to use.
Since it was a gift, the shade was a bit lighter on my skin- It didn't match my skin perfectly but still okay.

This foundation is a very light weight and fresh feeling, however, I found it leaves a little cakey look in the beginning and blends into skin later on. When i used tiny bit, it still covered red spots completely. It usually takes double amount of other foundations so I would say this HD foundation does good job on covering blemishes and red spots with small amount.

Pros:
  1.  Great coverage
  2.  Nice package
  3.  Usable pump on a bottle
  4.  Light weight
  5.  Looks great and flawless on-screen
  6.  Multiple shades you can choose from
 Cons:
  1. Pricey
  2. I could see it stays in lines and wrinkles.
  3. Looks a bit, tiny bit cakey in real life.
I would probably stick with my No7 Tinted Moisturizer & Maybelline's dream liquid mousse for everyday use and might use this foundation on special occasion where I need photo-shoot or need complete coverage.

No7 | Dual Action Tinted Moisturiser - Medium

 №7 Dual Action Tinted Moisturiser Medium Color 50ml - $11.99  £9.20

I've wanted to get Tinted Moisturizer because recently I get blemishes and little troubles around my face. So, I really didn't want to use thick & heavy foundation. I want my skin to be able to breath better even though I put  make up on. Anyways, the other day when I went to Target to get my pup's food, I picked up Sonia Kashuk Lip Crayon and this No7 Dual Action Tinted Moisturiser. I remember it only has three shades - fair, medium, dark. ( I picked Medium)

*My skin type is normal but sometimes it gets little oily around T-zone.

Wishlist # 2

Grace Davidson Tuesday, March 12, 2013 2 Comments

This March of 2013 is one of the craziest month so far. My boyfriend and I are in Las Vegas for my best friend's 21 birthday. We are going to stay in here for about a week and the $$ we are going to spend is.. whoa.. After the trip, I am getting a DSLR camera which is little pricy but I've always wanted it and it's in my wishlist #1, and still working on upgrading the house so me and my boyfriend have to get a whole new kitchen($$$$). I probably can't get these until next month or so but that's why it's called wishlist! ...

1 - Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizing Balm ($54) 1oz./30ml -  I recently into more a natural look/makeup. My skin is little dry so always get flaky spot somewhere on my face. Sometime I want to go out for a little and want a natural look but want to look like I have a flawless skin. But I feel like the foundation that I'm currently using is little heavy or thick. I heard/saw that this Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizing Balm  has light coverage that can actually work as a light foundation. That's the only reason I want to get and try.Description: Extra SPF 25 Tinted Moisturizing Balm is a lightweight foundation alternative for dry, dehydrated skin, this formula is ultra-rich, and blends easily, giving skin a dewy look with light coverage. 2 - Sigma Mrs Bunny Essential Kit ($120) -  I thought maybe it is the time for me to start using makeup brushes instead of my hands and fingers so I was looking for brushes. I know a lot of people use Sigma brushes so I went to their website and this Mrs Bunny Essential Kit grabbed my eyes. I just love how it looks. I really like the color combination of baby blue and pink. I probably will enjoy doing makeup with these brushes.

3 - Chloé Eau de Parfum ($90) 1.7oz/50ml - I just love Rose scent of it. The bottle looks slick and this is the one of perfumes that I want to re-purchase over and over. However, It is true that It's little pricy that makes me think a little but I think it's worth it since I really love it and many people love it as well. 4 - Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit ($33) .05 oz/1.4g; .06oz/1.7g - I'm getting a lot of skin trouble recently and blemishes on my face. I can see a huge dark circle under my eyes.
